    美國職棒堪薩斯皇家今天在主場迎戰紐約洋基隊，6局上、皇家2比4落後，台灣旅美投手王建民登板後援對上老東家，雖然一上場就投出4壞保送，被敲1支安打，造成2、3壘有人危機，但王建民接連解決三名打者，分別是三振、讓打者擊出一壘滾地球刺殺，及中外野飛球接殺，成功化解失分危機。7局上，王建民再度讓洋基三上三下，加上6局下和8局下皇家各搶回1分，兩隊形成4比4平手，洋基在延長賽第10局以5比4力克皇家，王建民無關勝負 。
